First Christian Church SCC Update
November 9, 2021
Hello from your new Worship Minister and new editor of the FCCSCC Update, Don Seevers! Please be patient and offer up prayers on my behalf as I strive to make this a helpful connection with you as a part of the FCCSCC family. I hope to send out a newsletter every other week. We appreciate the past efforts of Paul Stebleton and Gary Grimm as they served as recent editors. I will draw upon the resources of those leading various ministries for timely and accurate information. I have served as newsletter editor in the past, but it has been a while since I took on this responsibility. Here we go…
Friday, November 12 – 3 PM to 6 PM Cruise-In!
This event has been rescheduled from last Friday due to the inclement weather on that day. How YOU can make this event successful? Be here! That’s right. We need you to be here to greet and welcome our guests. We hope to make friends through this event and those who attend not only help by bringing LOTS of food (extra for our guests) but also by providing fellowship. The dinner is not only for our guests, but also for us as we witness to our guests, as we enjoy seeing their “cool” cars. Question? Contact Ed or Carol Vacca.
Sunday, November 14 – 3 PM Wii Bowling
Come for some great competition and lots of laughs. Bring some soft drinks and snacks to share. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer. This “tournament” will be held at the church facilities.
Wednesday, November 10 @ 11 AM — Choir Rehearsals
If you signed up to sing in our FCC Choir, please join us this coming Wednesday, November 10 @ 11 AM in the Worship Center. We will be preparing selections from the Christmas musical, Bethlehem Morning. We will plan to rehearse each Wednesday morning. We have music and rehearsal CDs for all. The director was pleasantly surprised by the number of singers who signed up.
Even if you have not signed up yet, please come and join us this week as we prepare to sing on one Sunday morning in December and at our Christmas Concert on December 19 @ 6 PM.

On a personal note…it is so good to finally be here with you as we have worshiped together over the last 4 weeks. I look forward to focusing on why we should be thankful during the month of November and anticipate celebrating the Advent and Christmas seasons with you as we celebrate the gift of our Savior, Jesus, once again. We ask for your prayers as we approach this holiday season. Many people are open to invitations to worship and concert events at this time of the year. Are you thinking about friends and family that you can invite? Let’s all set a goal of inviting at least 5 people to worship with us. Some may not come, but we may be surprised to see that others are just waiting for that invitation.
New Members Update…
we rejoice in the two decisions made recently. On October 31, Bob O’Conner placed his membership with us. On November 7, we welcomed JoAnn Edwards as she was baptized in Christ. REJOICE!
